Frank Gonzales

Here's some beautiful works by Frank Gonzales, an American contemporary artist. The birds in his paintings really caught my eye because of the facet-like colour blocks around their bodies. Kinda reminds me of what you see on TV when the satellite signals are disrupted. Cool stuff!

The best way to explain this unique visual style is probably this: "I like to construct and deconstruct during the process leaving traces of my journey in the end results." His blog also documents the process of completing his works. You'll see the delicately penciled lines gradually being filled in and brought to life. If you enjoy his works as much as I do, here's more for you to pour over. Also check out the "Figures & Misc" link. Brr!
