The quiet revolution

I love her style! The name's Claire Scully, and these images are from her online portfolio. And a quiet revolution indeed, her illustrations are made up of finely etched lines that hide quiet secrets. I really like her organic line work, something I'd like to explore in the Scribblemates designs too!

She's selling some of her works online as prints on cards and tote bags as well. These include the 'Bejeweled' range, intricate prints that resemble folk art. She's crystalized the essence of every animal with just one colour.

David Stark Events

Led by talented David Stark, David Stark Events and Production has a portfolio of clients including Tate Modern, Sundance Institute and the Museum of Art and Design. Yes you can see the artsy trend there, so I'll let the pictures do the speaking.

Ranging from private to corporate events, his events are absolutely gorgeous! And did I also mention that the David Stark website is pretty cool? More beautiful event shots there.

Frank Gonzales

Here's some beautiful works by Frank Gonzales, an American contemporary artist. The birds in his paintings really caught my eye because of the facet-like colour blocks around their bodies. Kinda reminds me of what you see on TV when the satellite signals are disrupted. Cool stuff!

The best way to explain this unique visual style is probably this: "I like to construct and deconstruct during the process leaving traces of my journey in the end results." His blog also documents the process of completing his works. You'll see the delicately penciled lines gradually being filled in and brought to life. Mapping the world

There's always something appealing about paper cuts. May be it's because they can't quite decide if they'd like to remain in the realm of graphics or 3D.

Here's Famille Summerbelle's intricate paper cuts of Paris, NYC and London. There's amazing detail in each of them and I love how well balanced the positive and negative spaces are. There's a sense of order in every organized mess that these paper cuts are.

These are some truly amazing works by husband and wife team Julie and Simon for decoration of kids' rooms. For the record I think these paper cuts would be perfect for any home, not just for kids! And here's a link to their blog..
